Summary

Based on the wildly popular webcomic, One of Those Days chronicles the life and love of Yehuda and Maya Devir as they take on the minutiae of marriage, the ups and downs of daily life, and the paradigm shift of new parenthood。

Yehuda and Maya Devir began illustrating their life in comics when they moved into their first apartment together in Tel Aviv as newlyweds。 In the years since, One of Those Days has become one of the biggest webcomics on the Internet, with millions of followers around the world。 Yehuda Devir grew up on superhero comic books, and the Devirs' visual style is downright kinetic and bursting with life。

In this collection--the first time that the Devirs' comics have been compiled in one volume--they share stories that are heartwarming, hilarious, and universally recognizable。 So even for those who don't feel like pulling out an assault rifle to wage war on a kitchen cockroach, the Devirs' challenges and triumphs are instantly familiar to anyone who's had one of those days。

I have seen advertisements for this comic on Facebook for seemingly forever。 Non-stop "This comics truly shows married life" or "Laugh at your own relationship" or various other little clickbait taglines trying to get me to look (and I noticed last time I saw one that it doesn't even link to the artist's own website, so I assume it's one of those multiple page articles like those ranking sites)。 I have a personal policy that if Facebook is trying to shove it down my throat, I want nothing to do I have seen advertisements for this comic on Facebook for seemingly forever。 Non-stop "This comics truly shows married life" or "Laugh at your own relationship" or various other little clickbait taglines trying to get me to look (and I noticed last time I saw one that it doesn't even link to the artist's own website, so I assume it's one of those multiple page articles like those ranking sites)。 I have a personal policy that if Facebook is trying to shove it down my throat, I want nothing to do with it on general principle。 My wife has no such issues。So, one day I hear her cracking up and see her staring at her phone。 "You've got to see this" and shows me the very comic I've been refusing to read because of my Facebook policy。 And damn it, it's really funny。 As many have said, it is very relatable。 It does show a side to relationships in a comical manner that do make me smile。 I do see much of my own life in it。 It's charming, it's funny and it's a relaxing stress free comic (which despite the fact that I read a ton of horror and suspense novels, I do occasionally need)。 If I had one complaint it's that there's not a lot of comics for the price tag they're asking… on the other hand, it's an attractive hardcover and I can't say I regret buying it in the slightest。 4/5 stars。 For the record, my facebook policy remains in effect, but I'm glad I discovered this one。 。。。more

I have heard about this comic and duo for a while and once I came upon this collection I knew I had to have it。 I am so glad I did as not only are the comics charming especially with the details, the realism behind them is lovely。 I highly recommend this comic especially for people in relationships or with families。

This is a collection of all of the web comics the couple made, and it's nice to see them all compiled together and see some new ones I didn't see online。 They're charming and relateable and fun to look at。Would recommend?Yeah, sure。 This is a collection of all of the web comics the couple made, and it's nice to see them all compiled together and see some new ones I didn't see online。 They're charming and relateable and fun to look at。Would recommend?Yeah, sure。 。。。more

AdorableFunny and talented couple。 You guys made me buy my first comic book ever。 Well done and congrats on your second kid。

Cute but familiar one page comics about relationships。 Where the rating takes a hit is that this is a $30 hardcover where half the pages are uncolored versions of the same comics。

"One of Those Days" is a single-panel slice-of-life web comic taken from the life of Israeli artists Yehuda and Maya Devir。 They've always raised a grin and been must-shares when I come across them online, and I love having this attractive hardbound collection to leaf through。 "One of Those Days" is a single-panel slice-of-life web comic taken from the life of Israeli artists Yehuda and Maya Devir。 They've always raised a grin and been must-shares when I come across them online, and I love having this attractive hardbound collection to leaf through。 。。。more

Love their love story and comics, but disappointed that the book had 3/4 full of the same comic, unfinished , then finished。 A few times would have been cute, but not most of the book

A funny and endearing look at a couple's life from dating, cohabitating, proposal, marriage to baby makes three。 Very sweet。 Some of these things are hysterical and very universal。 WHY MAKE WARM IF NO WANT SNUGGLE?! I've seen some of these online, and I love the art style as well as how absolutely adorable this couple seems。 Relationship goals, to be sure。 Despite the large size of the book, there really aren't that many comics inside, and they're almost entirely all one-page illustrations。 Worth a read, but definitely not something I will ever need to purchase for myself。 I've seen some of these online, and I love the art style as well as how absolutely adorable this couple seems。 Relationship goals, to be sure。 Despite the large size of the book, there really aren't that many comics inside, and they're almost entirely all one-page illustrations。 Worth a read, but definitely not something I will ever need to purchase for myself。 。。。more

I read this in one sitting, and it was such a fun time!Charming, funny, and so relatable - Yehuda Devir created this graphic novel depicting the small-everyday-life moments with his wife Maya。

I have always loved seeing the individual images but it is so nice to have them as a collection! Such a relatable view of life

Cute, well-drawn comics depicting couple-hood

Beautiful book。 All the feels。 But I was a bit disappointed with the lack of content。 More of a picture book than a graphic novel。

Sokakhoz hasonlóan én is az instagramon fedeztem fel ezt a különleges oldalt, ami eredetileg egy személyes blogként indult, ahol Yehuda rajzos formában mutatta be a barátainak, milyen a közös élete Tel Avivban a barátnőjével, Mayával。 Ha össze kéne foglalnom ezt a könyvet, akkor azt mondanám, ezek egy fiatal pár kevésbé fotogén, mindennapi pillanatai, botladozásai és próbálkozásai, amiben humoros tükröt tartanak egymás és a közönségük elé。 Ők a tökéletes példa arra, hogyan is néz ki a szeretet a Sokakhoz hasonlóan én is az instagramon fedeztem fel ezt a különleges oldalt, ami eredetileg egy személyes blogként indult, ahol Yehuda rajzos formában mutatta be a barátainak, milyen a közös élete Tel Avivban a barátnőjével, Mayával。 Ha össze kéne foglalnom ezt a könyvet, akkor azt mondanám, ezek egy fiatal pár kevésbé fotogén, mindennapi pillanatai, botladozásai és próbálkozásai, amiben humoros tükröt tartanak egymás és a közönségük elé。 Ők a tökéletes példa arra, hogyan is néz ki a szeretet a gyakorlatban。 Ez a könyv is tele van meghatározó és kevésbé emlékezetes pillanatokkal, mindennapos küzdelmekkel, félelmekkel, mindez szűrő nélkül, nyers formában, önironikus hangvételben, élénk grafikával megjelenítve。Bővebben:http://konyvkuczko。hu/2021/03/26/yehu。。。 。。。more

Such a realistic, humorous, and relatable look at marriages ups and downs。 I thoroughly enjoyed paging through the various sections with my husband。

Fairly typical one-page gags about newlyweds and marriage get an energetic boost from being drawn with the cheesecake and dynamic sensibilities of superhero comic book covers。 Israelis Yehuda and Maya Devir come off as a fun and sexy couple into superhero and action movies。 (Marvel may be sending them a letter soon about the repeated use of a little Hulk doll throughout the book。)Check it out online: https://www。yehudadevir。com/one-of-th。。。 Fairly typical one-page gags about newlyweds and marriage get an energetic boost from being drawn with the cheesecake and dynamic sensibilities of superhero comic book covers。 Israelis Yehuda and Maya Devir come off as a fun and sexy couple into superhero and action movies。 (Marvel may be sending them a letter soon about the repeated use of a little Hulk doll throughout the book。)Check it out online: https://www。yehudadevir。com/one-of-th。。。 。。。more

OH MY GOSH! I loved this book。 So like my husband and me。 Had me laughing out loud with some of the drawings and nodding in agreement with others。 I may or may not have shown some drawings to my husband and said it was him too。 If you're in a committed relationship, this is a great book。 If you've been married for a long time, you need this book。 If you've ever babysat kids, you need to read this too for the latter parts。 You will laugh and chuckle。 Perfect end to a horrid year! Each comic is beautiful and so relatable, but this felt more cash grabby then i would have liked。 Especially since every page had one side with the comic sketch and no text the other in full color with text。

AwesomBeen following them on Instagram and was super excited to get the book! Can’t wait for another。 The first class I ever took in college was on the art of the graphic novel and I’ve continued to love them since。

I love this artist and this couple so much! The artwork is so relatable and it’s such a privilege to get to see into their lives; the highs and the lows

One of my favorite webcomics is collected in this beautiful hard cover。 The art is larger than my phone and beautiful。 Yehuda and Maya Devir bring their special view of life to the page and everyone is better off because they do。 These comics can be a little cheesy at times but that makes them all better。 The Devir’s open themselves up to the world and share a little sliver of what it’s like to be with them。 I read a lot of comics about relationships and they usually go super cute art, this comi One of my favorite webcomics is collected in this beautiful hard cover。 The art is larger than my phone and beautiful。 Yehuda and Maya Devir bring their special view of life to the page and everyone is better off because they do。 These comics can be a little cheesy at times but that makes them all better。 The Devir’s open themselves up to the world and share a little sliver of what it’s like to be with them。 I read a lot of comics about relationships and they usually go super cute art, this comic goes for superhero style art。 The Devir’s aren’t trying to land cute jokes that make you go ahhh like most relationship comics。 They’re are opening up to personal moments that are unique to them but many couple can relate too。 If you’re looking for a book that’s fun and full of being art this is your comic。 This comic will make you smile and laugh。 It’ll make you wish more comics were like this and you would be right。 It’s that fun to read。 。。。more

I don’t normally read graphic novels but I couldn’t resist this one and I so glad I gave it a try! This was hilarious and relatable and the art was just stunning。 It’s definitely one I spent some time with, just appreciating the detail in the pictures and I know I’ll be flipping through it again and again。 If you’re married this will crack you up and if you have kids you’ll relate to the transition from kid free to new parenthood。

Reading 2020Book 178: One of Those Days by Yehuda and Maya DevirThis book was recommended and loaned to me by Katie Colcomb Augustine。 Thanks for the share。 This graphic novel chronicles the snapshots in the lives of the Devirs。 Some intimate moments, some laugh out loud funny times in a marriage, and some tough moments。 The art in the book is amazing, as each page has an outline of the scene and the explanation, and the next page has the full color completed illustration。 This book was more of Reading 2020Book 178: One of Those Days by Yehuda and Maya DevirThis book was recommended and loaned to me by Katie Colcomb Augustine。 Thanks for the share。 This graphic novel chronicles the snapshots in the lives of the Devirs。 Some intimate moments, some laugh out loud funny times in a marriage, and some tough moments。 The art in the book is amazing, as each page has an outline of the scene and the explanation, and the next page has the full color completed illustration。 This book was more of a comic book with each set of pages a window into that one moment in their lives。 There is a story, not told in flowing prose or verse, but in snapshots。 The art is amazing, and I looked through the book a couple of times to look at all the art again。 Some of the moments in the book I laughed because they are moments many people experience in their own lives。 Overall a great reading experience, my rating 4⭐️。 。。。more
